What is the format of the class?Classes typically include a warm-up, foundational steps, technique practice, and partner work. Each session focuses on different aspects of Zouk dance.

What happens if I miss a class?If you miss a class, you can discuss with the instructor about how to cover the missed content. Depending on the case, a private session may be needed to catch up. Please note that we do not offer refunds for missed classes and do not offer make-ups.

What should I wear to the class?Wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Dance shoes or comfortable footwear with flat and smooth soles, like jazz shoes, are recommended. Sorry, studio owners don't permit high-heeled shoes. However, suede-sole Cubans and indoor dance shoes are allowed.

Do I need prior dance experience to join the Zouk classes?The class is open-level and friendly to beginners. However, some partner dance experience is recommended, even if in a style other than Zouk. The best is to contact us for a quick chat and schedule a drop-in to get some feedback from the teacher.

Is parking available at the studio?Street parking is available near the studio. Please allow extra time to find parking.

Is the studio accessible by public transportation?Yes, the studio is conveniently located close to Grove St Path Station. Check local transit options for the best route.

How large are the classes?Class sizes can vary, but we aim to keep them small to ensure individual attention and a quality learning experience.

Do I need to bring a partner?No, you do not need to bring a partner. We rotate partners during the class to ensure everyone gets a chance to dance.

Do you offer any special events or workshops?Yes, we occasionally host special events and workshops. For updates, follow us on Instagram and join our WhatsApp group.

Can I attend a trial class before committing to a monthly plan?We do not offer trial classes but we welcome drop-ins for prospective monthly students. We want to ensure current and new students are comfortable with space, pairing, and level. So, if you’re interested in a drop-in class before committing, please get in touch with us. After the class, your instructor will give you feedback and a recommendation to join an alternative class that is more beneficial to your level. Our instructor is dedicated to guiding you through each step of your Zouk journey with care and expertise.

Do you offer private lessons?Yes, private lessons are available. Contact Rui Tavares directly to schedule and discuss pricing.

What if the instructor is not available or misses a class?If the instructor misses a class, students will be notified in advance, and the missed class will be rescheduled. The studio might hold a practice session or a social at a lower rate.

What health and safety measures are in place?We follow all local health guidelines. Please only attend if you feel well. Hand sanitizers are available, and we encourage regular hand washing.
